Back in the early 1900's this was a common sight in almost every village and small town in Ontario. Train stations dotted the land. They were very pretty Victorian buildings. Although my painting reference was in black and white, I chose to paint the building in these colours after researching the common colours for that time period. Many were combinations of the pale yellow or green, beige, ivory. All the buildings were red-washed in the 1940's as they were taken over by new owners.
