A custom watercolour painting makes a wonderful memory as a gift for a birthday, wedding, Christmas, anniversary, or just for yourself!
Here are some ideas:
Custom orders usually require 4-6 weeks notice, depending on my schedule. You will need to provide at least one photograph of your chosen view….preferably 3-4 with different angles/close ups. If it is in the local area, I can go take a photograph. I do paint directly from photographs.
I can paint whatever season that you like, no matter what the photograph is. For buildings, winter photos are good because the leaves are off the trees and you can usually see the house better. A sunny day is good to see the shadows.
Keep in mind that my custom paintings are not exact reproductions, so there could be minor variances and things left out. They are an artistic rendering of the subject. We will discuss a lot of that at the time of booking. I retain all rights to the artwork and may produce reproductions at a later date.
There are 3 common sizes that I do, but you are not limited to that. Typical prices are given here….I will confirm the price once I see the reference photo.
Matted (standard white mat) for your 16x20 frame (image size 11x14) - starts at $250
Matted (standard white mat) for your 11x14 frame (image size 8x10) - starts at $175
Matted (standard white mat) for your 8x10 frame (image size 5x7) - starts at $100
LARGER SIZES
Unmatted but suitable for approx 20x24 frame (image size approx 14x18) - starts at $400
Unmatted but suitable for approx 24x36 frame (image size approx 18x30) - starts at $700
HST will be added on to these prices.
A 50% deposit will confirm your booking. You can pay by Etransfer, or by credit card through an email sent to you by Square, my secure payment processor. Balance due upon delivery.
The other decision that you would need to make for buildings is which style you prefer. I paint the traditional style of my artwork, but I also offer a “whimsy’ style, which is watercolour and ink. It has a different look to it….I think it’s fun. You can see the samples shown.
Please contact me to discuss further or answer any questions. I look forward to creating this memory for you.
