A New Commission

I recently completed an interesting commission piece.  My customer ordered this as a gift for her parent's birthdays.  It is a well-known scene from Bon Echo Provincial Park in Ontario.  This family had camped there every summer for many years, so it was a very special place to them.  The sun setting on this rock face is an amazing sight.

This is what makes a commission so meaningful to do.  It is often a gift for someone....of a special place.  Usually that is a home or a cottage.   And it is very special to that person.  Having a painting of a special memory hanging in your house gives you good feelings every time you look at.  A painting should make you feel something.   So in giving a gift of a painting in this way, you are giving a special memory......good feelings.

I like being a part of that.
